The BwB leadership team all hail from the City. Besides their careers in banking, our team bring years of experience in various social sectors such as renewable energy, sustainability financing and helping young companies to grow and succeed.

Angus Forbes, Founder
Angus worked in the City for 20 years, at James Capel, Smith New Court / Merrill Lynch and GLG Partners respectively. After leaving GLG he became the first Director of the Prince's Rainforest Project. In June 2012 he launched GCIB.
Rupesh Madlani, CEO
Rupesh worked at Barclays and led the No.1 rated European clean technology equity research team. Joining from Lehman Brothers where he covered the same sector. The team ranked first in the 2013 Institutional Investor's European equity research survey. Prior to this, Rupesh worked in the corporate finance practice at PricewaterhouseCoopers in London. Rupesh graduated in Economics from the London School of Economics and is a chartered accountant.
Chris Smith
Chris held senior sustainability roles at Standard Chartered (head), Arthur. D. Little, the Offices of HRH The Prince of Wales. Set up the Prince’s Rainforest Project with Angus Forbes. Now a director at boutique executive search firm Six Degree People. Chris is also an independent consultant specialising in renewable energy and sustainable finance.
William Watts
William had a long career in traditional money and bond markets in the UK, US and European Rabobank. He became Head of Solar Lending then took a placement in Rwanda for Rabo Development as a special advisor for Banque Populaire du Rwanda. He returned to the UK in 2009 and after managing a portfolio of wind farm and forestry assets for a niche asset manager and became a founder partner of the Low Carbon Group.
Philip Farrer
Philip, following a commission in the Armed Services, moved onto an 18 year career in the city where he was a Managing Director at Merrill Lynch responsible for Global Equity Sales and Marketing. In 2001 he emigrated to New Zealand where he ran a small farm returning to the UK in 2009. He is currently Deputy Chairman of Hanford School, Dorset and has other trusteeships.
Nigel Davies
Nigel started his career as a junior partner at Vickers da Costa in 1968 before joining First Boston Corp. as SVP responsible for all European time zone activities. Nigel then became a main board director at James Capel & Co and was responsible for all trading activities worldwide until 1996.
Arindam Basu
Arindam is a seasoned financial analyst with over eight years of experience in Equity Research at Lehman Brothers and Barclays. He was part of Sustainability and Clean Technology team (ranked No.1 globally in the Institutional Investor survey) as well as Telecom Services team. Having worked in three key financial hubs such as New York, London and Mumbai he has a deep understanding of global markets.
Julien Roques
Julien worked at Santander as vice president in their investment banking division based in Paris. Prior to this, Julien worked at Barclays and Lehman Brothers in the number one ranked renewables equity research team based in London. Julien enjoys food, running and music.
Jade Bouhmouch
Jade helps set financial and business strategy at Google UK. He was previously a senior analyst at Bank of America Merrill Lynch in San Francisco, where he managed investment strategies focused on the technology sector and supported a global macro strategy. He also has experience with impact investing as a consultant for Global Sustainable Capital Management and as an angel investor focused on AI that augments human capabilities. Jade has an MBA from INSEAD and is a CFA charter holder.
Sonal Biyani
Sonal has over 12 years of experience in capital markets, fund raising (IPO, PE) and Mergers & Acquisitions in India. She has previously worked as an Investment Banker at Axis Capital, Enam Securities, and Lehman Brothers covering various sectors such as pharma and retail and has a deep understanding of developing markets. Sonal is an MBA from IIFT, Delhi. She is also a CFA (US) charter holder.
