Angus Forbes

Chairman / Board

Angus worked in the City for 20 years, at James Capel, Smith New Court / Merrill Lynch and GLG Partners respectively. After leaving GLG he became the first Director of the Prince's Rainforest Project. In June 2012 he launched GCIB.

Rupesh Madlani

CEO / Board

Rupesh spent a decade at Lehman Brothers and Barclays in equity research in sustainability and clean technology, ranking first in the Institutional Investor survey. Prior to this, Rupesh worked at PwC in the corporate finance practice. Rupesh is a chartered accountant and Freeman of the City of London. Rupesh is an expert reviewer in various publications with the World Economic Forum, the OECD, Prince of Wales Sustainability unit and the United Nations relating to sustainable development.

Chris Smith

Managing Director

Chris worked in the City of London for 15 years up to 2009 where his last role was Head of Sustainable Finance at Standard Chartered. In 2009 Chris was seconded by Standard Chartered to work for HRH The Prince of Wales where he helped set up The Prince's Rainforest Project. Chris has worked extensively across emerging markets. 

Willam Watts

Managing Director

William had a long career in traditional money and bond markets in the UK, US and European Rabobank.  He became Head of Solar Lending  then took a placement in Rwanda for Rabo Development as a special advisor for Banque Populaire du Rwanda.  He returned to the UK in 2009 and after managing a portfolio of wind farm and forestry assets for a niche asset manager and became a founder partner of the Low Carbon Group.


Marc-Alexander Pohl

Executive Director

Alexander is a Director in HSBC’s Client Network Banking team which helps large customers solve supply chain challenges using banking products and services. As part of this, HSBC has recently launched an innovative financing solution which incentivises and supports the improvement of supplier sustainability on a programmatic basis.

Jade Bouhmouch

Vice President

Jade helps set financial and business strategy at Google UK. He was previously a senior analyst at Bank of America Merrill Lynch in San Francisco, where he managed investment strategies focused on the technology sector and supported a global macro strategy. He also has experience with impact investing as a consultant for Global Sustainable Capital Management and as an angel investor focused on AI that augments human capabilities. Jade has an MBA from INSEAD and is a CFA charter holder.

Yang Zhou

Vice President

Yang has over 12 years of professional experience in various advisory and asset management roles, including private equity fund management, investment banking, financial advisory, business compliance, and legal service. Yang’s current focused area includes sustainable and climate-resilient agriculture, renewable energy, urban development and sustainability, and other social finance and impact investing themes. 

Kailash Ligade

Vice President

Kailash has over 12 years of Equity Research and Investment Banking experience. He has worked with some of the leading sell-side and buy-side firms such as Deutsche Bank, Barclays Capital, Al Rajhi United, PE Plus Capital Advisors, India Bulls and India Infoline. He holds an MBA in Finance from IFIM, Bangalore, India and is a certified financial modelling and valuation analyst from Corporate Finance Institute, USA.

Arindam Basu

Managing Director

Arindam is a seasoned financial analyst with over eight years of experience in Equity Research at Lehman Brothers and Barclays. He was part of Sustainability and Clean Technology team (ranked No.1 globally in the Institutional Investor survey) as well as Telecom Services team. Having worked in three key financial hubs such as New York, London and Mumbai he has a deep understanding of global markets.

Julien Roques

Executive Director

Julien worked at Santander as vice president in their investment banking division based in Paris. Prior to this, Julien worked at Barclays and Lehman Brothers in the number one ranked renewables equity research team based in London. Julien enjoys food, running and music.

Sonal Biyani

Sonal has over 12 years of experience in capital markets, fund raising (IPO, PE) and Mergers & Acquisitions in India. She has previously worked as an Investment Banker at Axis Capital, Enam Securities, and Lehman Brothers covering various sectors such as pharma and retail and has a deep understanding of developing markets. Sonal is an MBA from IIFT, Delhi. She is also a CFA (US) charter holder.

Rufus Grantham

Managing Director

Rufus has close to 20+ years of experience in investment research and advisory. He is currently the Director / Owner at Blood & Sands Ltd. He has previously worked as Managing Director at RBC Capital Markets and Nomura, and Deputy Head of Research at Lehman Brothers. Rufus holds a degree in BA Hons. from University of Cambridge.

Alice Moore


Alice previously worked at Citi Group in London as an Investment Banking Analyst, working in Debt Capital Markets in the Financial Institutions Group. Prior to this, she spent time at United Nations in the department of Economic and Social affairs in New York. Alice holds a degree in Economics with French from the University of Bristol.

Emra previously worked with  PwC  in corporate finance department, Insurance broker at ESL insurance, Head of marketing at Smart Accident Claims, Sales role in Barcelona.Financial services at PwC working in corporate finance department, Insurance broker at ESL insurance, Head of marketing at Smart Accident Claims, Sales role in Barcelona.

He holds a BSc Hons Accounting and Finance degree from LSE and also a certified tutor from LSE..

Fiona Melrose

Managing Directors

Fiona spent over 20 years in equity research analysing financial services and heading up bank equity research teams. She then moved into strategic roles at banks and was head of strategy for UBS Investment Bank. Fiona graduated from York University with a BA Hons in Economics and from LSE with a MSC in European Studies.

Philip Mitchell

Managing Director

Philip is based in Stockholm and spent the past 5 years as a Global portfolio manager for the Swedish pension fund AP1. Prior to that he was a top ranked equity salesman in the Consumer sector, working at JPMorgan, Lehman Brothers and Citigroup. He has just completed studying at the Cambridge University Institute of Sustainability Leadership, and recently co-founded a business building affordable housing in Sweden. Philip’s hobbies include golf, tennis, and writing that elusive blockbuster film script.
